Before configuring the EA
Cipher EA is in development. This guide explains the setup checks to make; the released build will define the exact input names, supported values and strategy behavior. Final screenshots and presets will be added when the EA is ready.
Understand the main settings
| Setting area | What to confirm in the supplied build |
|---|---|
| Activation | The supported license and account-binding process. |
| Market and timeframe | The symbols and chart timeframe required by the strategy. |
| Position sizing | Whether sizing uses fixed lots or a supported risk calculation. |
| Trade management | How the EA handles stops, targets and existing positions. |
| Trading limits | Available limits for exposure, sessions or losses. |
| Order identification | How the EA distinguishes its orders from manual trades or another EA. |
Run a complete demo test
- Confirm that the correct build appears in Navigator and attaches without an error.
- Check terminal permissions and the status shown by the EA.
- Review Experts and Journal messages for activation or order errors.
- Verify the actual trade size, stop and target against the configured inputs.
- Test the documented stop and restart process before using a live account.
When the EA does not trade
Check the connection, market hours, license status, symbol, timeframe and automated-trading permission first. A running EA may also be waiting for a valid strategy condition. Do not increase risk or disable controls just to force a trade.
Keep the terminal connected while the EA is running. Website access alone does not keep a desktop EA operating.
